Illustration

The aim of an illustration is to elucidate textual information (such as a story, poem, or newspaper article) by providing a visual representation. Illustrators conceptualize and create representations of an idea or a story through two- or three-dimensional images. They use many different mediums, from pencil and paint, to digital formatting, to prepare and create their illustrations. Many different styles of illustration are also available, and a good illustrator will consult with the client to best determine how to illustrate the story they are trying to tell or the message they are trying to communicate.
