The art of 2D

There’s something to be said for the nostalgia of two-dimensional art. Everything is 3D this and 3D that—even movies are doing it. But in my opinion, some of the best game art out there is 2D.   Ars Technica had an interesting article recently on Capybara Games’ Critter Crunch, which was widely praised for its outstanding art direction.
